One day, I decided to transplant the material from my old workplace's physical copy of their management on-boarding kit to a draft presentation using Prezi. Add some music and, tada! Suddenly, the on-boarding experience becomes a lot more dynamic than flipping through printed pages of a PowerPoint presentation.
As a matter of productivity and retention, employers might benefit from making human factors psychology more central to the core of their HR and general workplace practices. How can design play into productivity? What excites and draws employees to be loyal to a brand or cause? How can simple, people-focused tools be used to drive significant results? Behaviours and attitudes can be changed or reinforced more easily when we are thoughtful about the design behind the message.
